Balloons keep poppin up in the taskbar sayin -"WINDOWS/Prefetch/whatever.pf… is corrupt and unreadable

i use the Chkdsk Utility but no good -my internet explorer, media player and taskmanager hang the pc when i open them PLZZZZZZ HELLLPPPPPPP
