How can I make a Video Edit? Read discription.?

i want to make a youtube video edit like lets say i want to make a video edit of dora the explorer and i want to have just short scenes of episodes like lets say im making the edit and i want crank dat souljaboy to play in the background and i just want parts of episodes in the video so its like 3 minuets long, but how do i do it? can someone explain to me everything i have to do, like do i need movie maker just explain step by step thanks
