It's about that time... suggestions for purchasing a new (to me) used vehicle?

looking for something with good gas mileage, 03 or newer, preferably with a rear spoiler. suggestions? i'm driving a "boat" now, so something on the smallER side. we're not talkin geo metro here...just something sporty/cly as to be aesthetically pleasing, but not break the bank. decent resale value and cost of repairs taken into consideration as well. help a girl out...
