To turn or not to turn...?

A friend of mine was due to give birth in 2weeks time but they did a scan and said baby was breech. Yesterday she had a c-section and had a little boy. I haven't had a proper chance to catch up with her yet but last time I talked to her they said that she would either have a c-section or they would try and turn the baby, but they decided to give her a c-setion. My question is has anyone had their baby turned and given birth naturally? Or did they decide against having the baby turned and decided to have a c-section instead? Thanks Xx
